Control event privacy and sharing

Understand shared links, personal invitations, media visibility and what guests can access.

For Hosts and guestsUpdated 18 July 2026

Before you start

Understand shared links, personal invitations, media visibility and what guests can access. The available controls depend on whether you are the signed-in host or a guest using the event link. Use a current browser and allow any save or upload confirmation to finish before leaving the page.

What to do

  1. Share personal invitation links directly with the intended guest group.
  2. Use the shared event link or QR code only where broad event access is appropriate.
  3. Enable photo or video pre-approval when uploads should be reviewed before appearing.
  4. Keep albums hidden until their approved contents are ready for guests.
  5. Remove sensitive travel or contact details when they are no longer needed.

Check the result

Open the affected page again and confirm the saved information, status or media appears as expected. When the change affects guests, use View as guest or the event link on a second device to check the public result. Avoid making the same edit on two devices at once while a save is still in progress.

Good to know

  • Guests do not create GuestiGram accounts, so possession of a shared link grants the intended guest access.
  • Only approved media is shown on guest-facing surfaces.
  • Never publish passwords, private documents or payment information on the event page.

If it still does not work

Reload the affected page once and confirm you are using the correct event URL. Note the device, browser, approximate time and exact message shown. If the issue involves a Cloudflare error, include its Ray ID and UTC time. Do not repeatedly submit payments, destructive actions or large uploads while an error is active.
